COMET Trainings: Changing Our Mental and Emotional Trajectory

AgrAbility offers COMET™ (Changing Our Mental and Emotional Trajectory) trainings a for rural community members and organizations. Recognizing that mental health functions on a spectrum, COMET teaches people how to intervene when they encounter someone who is in a “vulnerable space” and help shift the person’s mental health trajectory back to a place of wellness instead of proceeding towards a mental health crisis. COMET trainings are specifically designed for rural communities.

Legacy Documentary Showings

AgrAbility supported the creation of Legacy, a powerful documentary that explores the beauty and hardships of agricultural life. AgrAbility Behavioral Health Specialists often host “viewing parties” in which the documentary is shown in a community setting, followed by a facilitated discussion. These events provide space for open conversations, reducing stigma around mental health in agriculture. Discussions often lead to additional community training sessions, including COMET and other suicide prevention and psychoeducational workshops.
