Agricultural Disability Support Services
For the past 27 years, Colorado AgrAbility Project Rehabilitation Specialists have provided on-farm and on-ranch assessments, assistive technology recommendations, and resource connections for individuals experiencing physical limitations due to injury, disability, or age-related issues. Colorado AgrAbility has served over 670 clients with these physical support services.
Time-tested results:
A comprehensive 17-year longitudinal study demonstrated the effectiveness of these efforts, showing improvements in quality of life and increased levels of independent living and working among AgrAbility participants.
Home Visits and Assessments
Colorado AgrAbility offers farm-specific assistive technology recommendations, workplace modifications, and resource connections to support your independence.
Key 2024 outcomes:
- Colorado AgrAbility conducted on-property assessments and provided direct service to 97 farmers and ranchers with physical disabilities.
- More than one-third of AgrAbility clients were veterans, reinforcing the program’s role in supporting former service members in agriculture.
- Colorado AgrAbility provided specialized training to four CSU Occupational Therapy Graduate Students in rural and agricultural occupational health.
